Edward Albee's Homelife & Zoo Story: 2 Short Plays In The Dining Room

  • The Hintonburg Public House 1020 Wellington Street West Ottawa, ON, K1Y 2X9 Canada

We are proud to host the Chamber Theatre Hintonburg January 25 when they present two short plays by Edward Albee under the umbrella title of At Home at the Zoo. The first play is Homelife, a resonant play about disconnect in the nuclear family with some surprises (this was written late in Albee's career, as a prequel). The second play is Zoo Story, written in 1960, it is a jazz classic play, the original "park bench" play that launched the guys career. The happy hubby from Homelife goes out to read a book in Central Park on a Simon and Garfunkle Sunday-the results are deadly. Albee passed late 2016, he was the last great American playwright since Tennessee Williams-Homelife has never been done in Ottawa. With 16 years of productions, 5 generations in the 'hood The HPH is very pleased to host Chamber Theatre Hintonburg & offer a sneak peak of their latest show.
